But the work of Luca Barcellona as performance had my heart beating faster and faster as I browsed through his Flickr feed. Luca is a true talent when it comes to letters as art, and I get completely green with envy when I see his work.
And not only am I envious but also proud. Why you ask? In this digital age, it’s important to remain in touch with hand-lettering and to appreciate and be in awe of people who can grasp such a talent for making words look amazingly beautiful with a bit of paint, brush, and the hand.
Carhartt hired Luca to paint various phrases for their London shop. It’s gorgeous, it’s amazing, and it drew quite the crowd. He also has his own line of apparel featuring his lettering in collaboration with Gold, where he also performed his lettering. So, who wants me to paint their wall?
